HEALTHSTORE'S MOONSHOT PROJECT
In its 25th year of franchising primary care in Africa under its CFWclinics brand, The Healthstore Foundation announces its Kenya Moonshot solution to the problem of substandard healthcare: A new model designed to geometrically scale “Effective-Quality Care” (EQC) to millions of low- to middle-income people afflicted by substandard healthcare; first in Kenya, then to the rest of the developing world.
Healthstore's Moonshot Project builds on the three pillars of both franchising and Universal Health Coverage (UHC): Quality, Access and Affordability. We believe that EQC is the only quality of care that counts. Substandard care is the same as no care, or worse. HSF will develop an EQC Engine, a software platform that combines managed care with franchising. Healthcare providers, governments, insurers, and other users will define what EQC means to them, and then measure the increase in the rate of EQC provided to populations over time. As the rate increases, money previously wasted on substandard care will be well-spent on EQC, thereby accelerating toward Universal Health Care (UHC) for people everywhere.
